Feast of Saint Catherine

Patroness of the Church of Saint Catherine in Bethlehem, put on a international feast. At the occasion the Franciscans, who have been serving the parish since the 13th century welcome the Custos of the Holy Land (past years). Saint Catherine is the titular saint of the Church of Saint Catherine and Friary which the Custody of the Holy Land has in Bethlehem, besides also being the patron saint of the same Catholic parish of Bethlehem.

Highlights of the Christian Event
Celebration of the Feast of Saint Catherine in Bethlehem on the 27th beginning with a solemn procession and entry of the head of the Franciscans to Manger Square, with bands and bagpipes playing.
Celebration on the 28th, with a special Mass celebrating the Church of Saint Catherine. Both days celebrations are completed with the incensation of the Star and Grotto of the Nativity.
